Action for SB 840 and Premier of "Sicko"
For the last 15 years, AMSA has steadfastly supported the single payer solution to achieve quality, affordable healthcare
for all, full choice of providers, and intelligent ways to control spiraling costs. Now medical and premed students have a real opportunity
to turn out and make a difference in how healthcare is reformed in California. This is YOUR chance to give our perspective on why a single
payer solution is one that works best for our patients and for the future of healthcare in the US.
On Tuesday, June 12th, Michael Moore will testify before the California Legislature on behalf of SB840, California's Single
Payer healthcare reform proposal. His testimony will begin at 1:30 and then a big rally will follow with nurses, physicians, and other allies
on the West steps of the State Capitol (big side facing Capitol Ave).
This is an incredible opportunity to let the world know that we care about policies that affect our patients. Join us to
make a big AMSA presence in Sacramento in support of Single Payer Healthcare Reform and SB 840.
